A dual piston pump driven by hydraulic power, with the position and speed of the pistons continuously monitored and controlled to produce exacting non-pulsating flow. The pump is completely PLC controlled, is sanitary and manufactured of 316 SS or other corrosion-resistant materials; it is CIP; and designed to be used with products that contain particles up to the size of apple slices in viscous or fluid media.

Performance
The pistons of the pump are monitored and controlled for speed and position using an LVDT sensor with a PLC programmable controller. The operator sets the cycle desired including initial sterilization, operation, idle, CIP, or maintenance, and the pump performs the desired operation automatically. The operator also sets the speed of operation. The Gentle
Flow™ Pump is designed with linear hydraulic powered suction and discharge valves so that sealing and wear are minimal. Operation to 1200 psi is possible because of the valve design. The pump is completely
cleaned-in-place with a special CIP chamber in which the pumping pistons are located. Transfer of CIP solution through the pump is with a centrifugal pump with flow control valves being actuated to control the flow of cleaning and rinse solutions alternately through the cylinders containing the pumping pistons and the suction and discharge valves. |
Importance
It is important to have a pump which will operate at high pressures, which is simple, and which can be controlled to produce products at different rates because it can be used with
MultiCoil™ Heat Exchangers or other tubular heat exchangers where pressures of viscous products may be in the 1000-1200 psi range. The Gentle
Flow is CIPable with a minimum number of spare parts to reduce manual cleaning time and increase reliability. have

Features
Adaptable
- Mounted horizontal or vertical.
- Multiple cylinders.
- Hopper fed or piped in line.
Piston
- Seals can be replaced by removing one cover, and no special tools are required.
- Seal replacement time is less than 5 minutes.
- Back side of seal and piston are water flushed to reduce wear.
- "Food grade" non-metalic material.
- Seal is bi-directional, which maximizes the seal contribution to suction capabilities, and cannot be installed backward.
- Seal design will not trap small particles.
Valve stem guides are water flushed to lubricate the valve and seals. |
