AES MultiCoil™ Systems

These heat exchangers are shell-and-coil with the product in the coils having a continuous radius which significantly affects heat transfer. The shells meet ASME qualifications for 150 psi and full vacuum at 350 and 0F and are carbon or stainless steel. The tubes are Duplex 2205 SS or Nickel 200.

Performance

The units develop heat transfer rates 300%-400% better than plates or tube-in-tube sanitary heat exchangers. They are used with fluid products such as milk and juices, viscous products such as cheese sauce and puddings, or viscous products with particles such as pie fillings or yogurt fruits. Heating and cooling is in the 40°F-300°F temperature range using indirect regeneration when logical.

Importance

The heat exchangers must heat and cool quickly in a thermally sterilizing aseptic system to provide the best tasting natural flavored product. When processing viscous products, high heat exchange rates are required to perform heating and cooling. The result is no cooked flavors in heat sensitive products such as milk and juices and the ability to heat and cool viscous products with or without particles.

AES MultiCoils™ can heat, hold, cool, and regenerate using water as the media. They perform all the functions in thermal processing aseptic systems.

  • Tube material: Standard 2-in. to 3-in. o.d., Stainless Steel, Nickel, or Other
  • Shell: 150 psig and full vacuum B 350F - Carbon or Stainless Steel
  • Insulation: 3-in. high temperature on outside of shell
  • Skin: 304 SS outside insulation - mill finish, welds ribbon polished
  • Base: 304 SS mil finish - welds wire brush - 2-in. high adjustable feet (SS flanges)
  • Product inlet and outlet: 2-in. through 22-in. weld, clamp, or VRC high Pressure

  • Steam 2 inch - 6 inch B sized for application
  • Condensate 2 inch - 2 inch B sized for application
  • Water - Makeup - Heater 3/4 inch NPT
  • Supply and Return B 2 inch ball to 6 inch butterfly valve (depends upon application)
